Pioneering Business On The Internet Since 1991
Eric began his business career in 1983, at the young age of 19.  With a GED diploma in hand and an enormous amount of motivation and enthusiasm, Eric Weissman began what turned out to be an exciting one of a kind business journey!

Eric's first engagement was as a sales associate for the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America.  Within six months, Eric became a top producer, earning membership in the prestigious Guardian Leaders Club (as one of their youngest members ever).

As a result of Eric's rapid success, he was asked to help hire new sales associates and train them with the same sales, market business development methods and techniques that had proven to be so valuable in his efforts of starting a life insurance sales career.

Over the next 3 years, Eric continued to enjoy great success with his personal sales, and took an enormous amount of pleasure in helping to build and foster other sales representatives.  But, he wanted more ... he wanted to build his own business!

Through Eric's interaction with his business insurance clients  he became aware of the need to provide financing solutions to small businesses owners, real estate developers and investors who could not go to a traditional bank.  So in 1986, and now at the age of 21, Eric decided to go off on his own and start a commercial finance company.  Eric put together about $30,000 in working capital and formed United Funding Capital Corporation (formally International Investors Inc.).

Eric was able to secure agreements with private and institutionally backed investors to fund in excess of $150 Million dollars in commercial loan transactions to be originated by United Funding.  With the power of these funding agreements, Eric built what turned out to be one of the largest privately owned commercial finance companies in the Northeast.  United Funding thrived and quickly gained enormous market share and notoriety in the media.  Having been regularly featured on the front cover of business journals and the business section of major newspapers, Eric was labeled by the media as "the 21 year old Ex High School Drop Out who made the grade in lending".

Part of the company's fast track growth and success was as a result of the use of what were then very rudimentary computer database marketing and management systems.  The Internet did not exist at that time (at least not for the public), but Eric had the insight to realize that a database can help you grow and manage a company.  Eric used a combination of early stage database systems and creative sales and marketing strategies to recruit, build and manage an independent field force of more than 2,000 loan originators.

As time went on, Eric expanded his positioning beyond just finance, and got more deeply involved in the overall process of starting, growing, financing and managing companies and development projects.  Eric helped to facilitate and finance many new business and real estate ventures, and became a trusted consultant and advisor for clients across the country.

Then, in the late 1980's, the economy, and particularly the finance and real estate industries hit rough times and United Funding suffered devastating financial blows.  As collateral values plummeted and viable finance opportunities dwindled, Eric began his quest for a new direction.

Over the next couple of years, Eric continued to try and stabilize during the extremely turbulent real estate bubble burst and economic downturn of the late 1980's.  While on a search for the next big thing, Eric expanded his business consulting activities, and began helping other companies on a full time basis to apply his creative business strategies to their companies and ventures.

While being involved with clients in the recruiting industry, Eric had the fortunate opportunity to get a glimpse of the Internet at its very early and rudimentary stage.  This small glimpse however was enough for Eric to realize that this was going to be big, and particularly for the recruiting and lead generation industries!  Eric had an idea to create a Virtual Prospecting and Lead Generation Robot that would search and surf the Internet for you, looking for sales leads and information about prospects, and then automatically communicate with potential new customers.  Although commonplace in the 2000's, in the early 1990's this was a radical idea.  Eric decided to go for it, he engaged the services of a long time friend who was an award winning software programmer and developer, raised initial seed capital and the two of them began what turned out to be an incredible ride.

Eric formed Market 2000 Corp. (M2C), developed his first Virtual Robot, hired a sales team and began marketing.  At first, the concept of a Virtual Internet Robot was very intriguing but a bit overwhelming to potential customers.  People liked the idea of the product but were not sure exactly what to do with a Virtual Internet Robot.  Eric then applied the strategy of making his Robots task specific, which was particularly important with locating resumes, because in the early 1990's information about technical professionals was extremely valuable to recruiters and human resource departments.  Everyone knew that resumes and profiles of computer professionals could be found on the Internet, but nobody knew how to find them, and the Internet was so slow that this was a difficult task at best.  So with a simple change in focus, M2C released a Robot that specifically prospected the Internet for resumes of technical professionals, retrieved matching resumes and then automatically communicated with the candidate prospects via email, allowing the recruiter to then generate inbound emails and phone calls from qualified candidates.  In addition, a recruiter could flip the switch and use the robot to prospect for customer leads as well.  M2C was a huge success, landing many major Fortune 500 clients like Lucent, Oracle, Compaq, HP and a host of many small to medium-sized companies across the country.

Eric and M2C then went on to develop a suite of Internet data-mining, prospecting, lead generation and recruiting systems and methods.  Then, thanks to a combination of insight and good old fashioned luck, just before the Internet bubble started to soften Eric sold M2C under a multi-million dollar deal, and was back on top!

After the sale of M2C, Eric went on to build more Internet businesses of his own, and worked on countless projects for clients across the country, and today spends his time continuing to pioneer business on the Internet, and helping business owners, entrepreneurs, business opportunity seekers, and professional consultants to achieve success in their Internet business endeavors.
